Overhead line equipment - OLE

Tratos has extensive experience in supplying insulated cables up to 245kV and developing a range of compact cables for overhead line equipment (OLE).
Continued investment in the latest technology, materials and human resources enables Tratos to supply a wide spectrum of specialised railway cables. Fixed trackside power cables include High voltage & Medium voltage cables supplying power to substations and switchgear, Track Feeder cables and OLE cables. Fixed trackside communication and signalling cables, including Data & Telecommunications (copper & fibre optic), as well as Signalling Power & Control Cables. Tratos is also a major supplier of Rolling Stock cables, including inter-car jumpers and Pantograph cables.

RANGE

Based on their experience of supplying innovative hybrid high-temperature low sag composite conductors for the Transmission and Distribution Utilities, Tratos produce a range of stranded round or sectoral-shaped wires using heat-resistant aluminium alloy or aluminium alloy with optimised mechanical strength and conductivity.

Based on their experience of supplying innovative optical fibre cables, Tratos recognised the surge in optical needs for the purpose of communication, supervision and control between substations in electrical transmission and distribution systems. This inspired engineers at Tratos to develop a range of conductors and cables that incorporate optical fibre units. The demand for monitoring power transmission capacities of overhead lines and the development of increased control and metering continue the application of conductors with optical fibre units.

Engineers in Tratos also recognised the shortage of new line corridors, drawing upon their extensive experience of supplying insulated cables up to 245kV, which led them to develop a range of compact overhead lines using covered overhead electrical conductors, which can reduce the clearance between the phase conductors and to earthed parts of supports or obstacles.
