Tratos Low Voltage (LV) cables (rated to 1,000 V or lower) are designed and tested to meet relevant UK, European and international standards.

The company’s purpose-built, in-house laboratory and testing facilities deliver peace of mind to customers ensuring their LV cable products choices meet necessary requirements.

Tratos LV cables can be found in a wide range of applications being typically used by Distribution Network Operators (DNO’s) and their Contractors for connecting supplies to private households, light industrial and commercial locations as well as public buildings such as hospitals, schools and shopping centres.

One range of LV cables manufactured and supplied by Tratos is suitable for power and lighting circuits as well as building wiring. These are suitable for Installation surface mounted or embedded conduits, cable trunking or similar closed systems.

An additional range of LV cables supplied by Tratos are used for the internal wiring of switch, control, metering, relay and instrument panels of power switchgear, and for such purposes as internal connections in rectifier equipment and in motor starters and controllers.

For Oil and Gas installations and Petrochemical Plants Tratos manufactures a wide range of cables for control, protection, signalling, communication and data transmission circuits where individual or collective screening of the cores, pairs or triples by an earthed metallic layer to prevent cross talk and reduce external electrical influences is required. These cables can be supplied either armoured for underground burial or unarmoured for above ground, less arduous applications.

All of the LV cables supplied by Tratos are CPR compliant and can have their performance in fire tailored to the particular installation, such as those where fire, smoke emission and toxic fumes create a potential threat.

Tratos’ LV cables are manufactured with single or multi core aluminium or copper conductors, thermoplastic or crosslinked insulation and sheathing, with screening or armouring as required. Tratos’ LV cables can be manufactured in standard and non-standard lengths and customised to meet any special design requirement.
