TITLE: Specification CW1841 for Cable Optical Fibre 214 – Anti-ballistic – Aerial Self Supporting Singlemode – Non-pressurised And Associated Hand Tools

SCOPE: This specification details the requirements for a range of figure of ‘8’ aerial self supporting loose tube construction optical fibre cables containing 12 to 96 singlemode fibres for installation in the Openreach Overhead Network. A prime requirement is that an anti-ballistic protection layer shall be incorporated in the cable design to provide protection to the cable core from the effect of shot gun damage.

These cables are for use in transmission systems operating over the wavelength range 1260nm to 1625nm.

Additionally, this specification also details the requirements for associated hand tools for use during installation activities of the cable.
