TITLE: Specification CW1586 for Cable Optical Fibre 25 – External
Multimode – Airspaced

SCOPE: This specification details the requirements for a range of polyethylene sheathed loose tube construction optical fibre cables containing a non-metallic central strength member, 8 to 24 multimode (50/125m) fibres and 6 insulated copper conductors.
The cables are for use in transmission systems operating at nominal wavelengths of 850nm and 1300nm. These cables will be for installation in underground ducts in the British Telecommunications plc network. The cables will be pressurised after installation.
A prime requirement is that the cable shall be suitable for installation with a stocking type grip applied directly over the cable sheath.
