SPECIFICATION CW 1280 CABLE POLYETHYLNE QUAD NO. 6

This specification details requirements for a cellular-polyethylene insulated quad cable with copper conductors for use in the junction network.

These cables are cellular-polyethylene insulated jelly filled colour coded star quad No.6 cables with copper conductors stranded into a compact and circular assembly. The assembly of quads are covered with a polyester wrapping tape rip cords are inserted under the sheath to aid stripping and termination of the cable.

Conductor sizes available are 0.63 mm and 0.9 mm. The standard number of quads available is from 7 to 520 (0.63 mm) and 7 to 272 (0.9 mm).

Cable constructions covered include the option of an aluminium foil moisture barrier in combination with the polyethylene sheath.
