BS EN IEC 62461
BS EN IEC 62461 document specifies the mechanical and electrical properties of round and formed wires for aluminium and aluminium alloys as well as thermal resistant alloys.
BS EN IEC 62461 is applicable to aluminium and aluminium wires for the manufacture of concentric lay overhead electrical stranded conductors with or without gap(s) for power transmission purposes.
These wires were previously included in IEC 60104, IEC 60121, IEC 60889, IEC 62004 and EN 50183.
The document lists the various materials and their designations in Table 1. The values listed in this table should be used for any required calculations.
Other tables within the document cover tolerances on wire diameter, and minimum mechanical properties for various types of wire, continuous operating and short time operating temperatures and the parameters of the bending test applicable to aluminium alloy wires.
