Tratos Firesafe JBA® IEC

Tratos-JBA® IEC cables are made with award winning Tratos-JBA® compound. Tratos UK Ltd has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation for its technologically advanced Tratos-JBA® compound.

Although developed originally for use on mobile and fixed Offshore Oil and Gas Installations, the mechanical strength and fire performance of this family of cables make them suitable for other applications where excellent fire performance is required.

Tratos products are designed to work in demanding environmental situations – harsh and challenging conditions, where reliability is a key factor.

PROPAGATION RESISTANT – Cable that meets flame propagation test IEC 60332-1-2 and BS EN 60332-1-2.

FLAME RETARDANCE – Designed and tested to resist flame propagation and spread complies with BS EN IEC 60332-3-22 Category A.

LOW SMOKE AND FUME – Cable with low toxicity, smoke and acid gas generation meets BS EN IEC 60754, IEC 61034 and BS EN 61034.

FIRE, IMPACT AND WATER RESISTANT – Designed and tested to BP Specification 112-12 carried out on the same piece of cable, Fire based upon IEC 60331.

Insulation – HEPR
Inner covering – Elastomeric LSZH compound
Fire barrier – Mica/glass tape
Armour – Galvanised steel wire braid, multicore, Tinned phosphor Bronze, single core
Outer sheath -Elastomeric SHF2 “Mud Resistant” compound

As the actual manufacturer of these cables, not simply a distributor, Tratos has total control of the design, quality and manufacturing process from the purchase of the raw materials through to final testing and despatch to our customers. Having control of the manufacturing process Tratos can ensure compatibility with most makes and types of glands.
