CW 1326/1179 PEUT UNDERGROUND IN DUCTS BT

Tratos is a long-established manufacturer of Telecommunication Cables, a family of cables used for the transmission of Data, Information, Voice and Images. Production at Tratos covers almost all the installation needs of Telecommunication Cabling.

These Outside Plant (OSP) Cables are used primarily drawn into underground ducts in the Secondary or Distribution (‘D’-side) of the local distribution Network.

These cables are manufactured as solid polyethylene-insulated jelly filled pair cable with plain copper conductors made up into units of 10 pairs or sub-units of 5 pairs. The required number of units or sub-units are stranded together before sheathing with a polyethylene sheath applied over a polyethylene coated aluminium foil moister barrier bonded to the sheath. This aluminium foil also acts as an electrostatic screen. The interstices of the cable are completely filled with a water-blocking compound, two rip cords are applied under the moisture barrier to ease removal of the foil and the sheath.

The standard number of pairs available is 2 Pr, 5 Pr, 10 Pr, 20 Pr, 30 Pr, 50 Pr and 100 Pr other numbers of pairs available on request.

An un-screened version of the cable is also available on request.

The cable meets or exceeds the requirements of CW 1326.
