TRATOS® FIBRE OPTIC & COPPER COMMUNICATION CABLE

CABLE OPTICAL FIBRE 200 – BLOWN - EXTERNAL - SINGLEMODE NON-PRESSURISED according to CW 1804

Telecommunication Cables / Optical Fibres Cables / Telecom Italia Fibre

Blown fibre systems Of particular interest for local area networks is the development of the technique of blowing fibres into ducts or tubes. Blown fibre systems have been developed as a method of avoiding fibre overstrain for complex route installations. They allow easy upgrading and future-proofing with low initial capital investment and the distribution of subsequent costs. The network infrastructure is created by installing, using the most appropriate cabling method, one or a group of empty plastic tubes. Subsequently as and when circuit provision is required, one or more fibres can be blown by compressed air into the tubes. Individual tubes can, by means of connectors be extended within buildings up to the fibre terminating equipment. This range of cables is designed for installation into sub-duct by the use of air blown techniques. In some circumstances, the cables may be installed short distances by the use of direct pulling techniques with a rope. These cables are of loose tube construction containing 12 to 288 single mode fibres within a non-pressurised black polyethene sheath. These cables are for use in transmission systems operating over the wavelength range 1260nm to 1650nm.
